A hardened control center where operators watch the grid around the clock, with a video wall, backup power and no single point of failure.
Grid operators cannot step away from the screens, so the new control center had to be ready to take over from the old one without a gap in visibility. The building needed a large video wall, dual-fed power, redundant cooling and secure communications back to the substations it watches. Every system had to be proven before operators trusted it with the grid.
The approach.

- 01
Hardened shell and site
Reinforced walls, controlled access and a secured perimeter were built to the owner’s physical security plan from the first pour.
- 02
Power with no weak link
Two utility feeds, generators and A/B UPS serve the control room and data rooms, with maintenance possible on any one path while the others carry the load.
- 03
A video wall that shows the truth
Wall structure, cooling and cabling were built ahead of the display vendor, then the full wall was calibrated and burned in before go-live.
- 04
Parallel operations
Operators ran the new center alongside the old one for weeks before the owner made the switch permanent.
The outcome.
“The operators had to trust this room more than the one they had used for years. We earned that by testing it in front of them.”
